Interview with Attorney Robert Curtis

His primary areas of practice include: representation of individual and business debtors, financial institutions, mortgage lenders and other creditors in commercial litigation and bankruptcy and reorganization. He has also allocated a portion of his practice to matters closely related to bankruptcy and reorganization such as real estate litigation, securities litigation, and corporate transactions.

As a professor and expert witness on bankruptcy and reorganization, Mr. Curtis has provided courses tailored to college students and helped non-bankruptcy judges to understand the ins and outs of various aspects of commercial law & bankruptcy law. In the process, he has become well acquainted with effective methods for teaching such complex matters as collections, evictions, foreclosures, automobile repossessions, and, of course, business and personal bankruptcy law. Through insightful and easy to follow presentations, including diagrams and written materials, Mr. Curtis conveys an understanding of these essential areas of the law to consumers, business people, mortgage lenders, automobile lenders, landlords and homeowners associations.

During his practice, Mr. Curtis has acted as lead trial counsel in numerous judicial and jury trials in U.S. Bankruptcy Courts as well as California courts. He has also represented parties in many appeals to the Bankruptcy Appellate Panel of the Ninth Circuit, the Circuit Court of Appeals for the Fifth, Ninth and Tenth Circuit Courts of Appeal, and the California Courts of Appeal.
